Religion and philosophy, in no particular order

Spotted on the number 11 bus this morning

First stop - STL“If anyone’s name was not found written in the bokk (sic) of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire!!! REVELATION 20:15″

This, and a couple of other verses (I remember something from Acts and another from Revelation) were typed on a white sheet of 8 1/2 by 11 paper and crammed into the plastic case for the MetroBus rules and regulations.

A few days ago, on the same bus (but in the opposite direction, after work), I heard this:

MAN: “Another question I would have for Einstein is, why does two plus two equal four and two times two equal four when no other number added to itself and multiplied by itself comes out the same? God knows. I’ve spoken to college professors and they don’t know.

WOMAN: “Well it must be something about two–in the nature of twoness.”

MAN: “Yes. And I don’t speak on anything unless I’m certain–unless it’s biblical truth or irrevocable, irrefutable…man-truth

I’m a novice public transit commuter, having grown up taking the DC Metro for special events regularly, but not often during rush hour. In Saint Louis, until we sold our other car, I only took MetroLink for class, but never MetroBus. Now I’m wondering how many public theologians and prophets there are lingering around bus and rail lines.
