Religion and philosophy, in no particular order

It’s official…

CK shadesYesterday I walked across the stage at UM - St Louis and got my diploma (or at least a letter promising that one would be mailed to me in six to eight weeks). My parents have been in town since Friday, so I’ve been busy entertaining them and not had time to update the blog. Last night we threw a party with friends from church, work, and various other walks of life.It was one of those rare moments when people you know and love get to meet the others that you know and love–and everyone seemed to mingle beautifully, finding conversation-starters easily, and staying late. There are some photos on my Flickr site that you can view if you’re interested (click the image for a link).
I also got some books to add to my growing list of “recreational reading.” I’m expecting Ursula Goodenough’s The Sacred Depths of Nature in the mail, and I also got some fiction/non-academic books: drag king dreams by Leslie Feinberg and Peace is Every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh.

Back to blogging soon–I have two parts of my earlier series to finish, and then I’d like to talk some about Darwin’s Dangerous Idea which I’ve been reading. Minds and Gods is the next book I’m anxious to read, but I do want to continue the discipline of reading well, not picking up bits and pieces of books at a time (for my benefit as well as yours).
